Are flights to Antarctica included?

The charter flights between Buenos Aires and Ushuaia are included. International flights to and from Buenos Aires are not, but Erika can help you plan them.

What gear do I need for the landings?

You'll receive a wind- and waterproof expedition jacket to keep, and boots, trekking poles and other equipment are loaned to you on board. HX sends a recommended packing list with your travel documents.

How rough is the Drake Passage?

The Drake Passage can be calm or rough, and conditions change from day to day. Many travelers bring seasickness remedies just in case. Talk to your doctor before you go.

How active is this trip?

Landings involve getting in and out of small expedition boats and walking on uneven, sometimes snowy ground. You can choose how much to do each day, and Erika can talk through any mobility questions with you.

What's the weather like in Antarctica in February?

February is late summer in Antarctica, with temperatures typically around freezing. Layers, the included expedition jacket, gloves and a warm hat will keep you comfortable.

Can I go kayaking or camping?

Yes, as optional small-group activities at an extra cost. Spaces are limited, so ask Erika early if you're interested.

Can I join this trip if I'm traveling solo?

Yes. Ask Erika for solo pricing. Solo travelers are part of nearly every group she hosts.

What's the deposit and when is final payment due?

A 25% deposit (nonrefundable) holds your cabin. Final payment is due in November 2026.
